At the 11th FM-Day at the Park Hyatt Vienna, Stefan Wimmer showed in the pitch competition how the digital thread runs unbroken from construction to operation – and took 3rd place with the topic of Infrastructure Lifecycle Management.

FM-Day 2026 at the Park Hyatt Vienna is behind us – and we look back on a day that paid off for us twice over. Under the motto “Joining forces. Shaping progress.”, FMA Facility Management Austria and IFMA Austria had invited guests to the 11th edition of the Austrian FM conference. We were there as a partner, and Stefan Wimmer took to the stage himself with a pitch presentation.
In his pitch “The digital thread: from construction to operation with the KENEXOS® platform”, Stefan Wimmer addressed a question many operators know well: why is so much building and asset data lost precisely at the construction handover – in Excel lists, PDF plans and isolated solutions?
His answer was Infrastructure Lifecycle Management on one shared data basis. What is captured in a structured way during construction and asset management with KENEXOS® PPM and KENEXOS® EAM passes into operation without media breaks – into VITRICON® CAFM in accordance with GEFMA 444 and VITRICON® EMS in accordance with GEFMA 445. The digital twin thus becomes a companion across the entire lifecycle, instead of a data set that has to be collected again after the handover.
We are all the more pleased that the pitch also convinced in the rankings: Stefan Wimmer took 3rd place in the FM-Day pitch competition. For us, this is welcome confirmation that lifecycle thinking has arrived in the FM industry – construction and operation are no longer seen as separate worlds, but as one continuous process.
Warm congratulations to Ulrike Rabmer-Koller and Drain2Energy® on their win!
We would like to thank FMA and IFMA Austria for an all-round successful, professionally run event – and everyone who took the time to talk with us. We look forward to continuing the conversations we started.
If you would like to meet Stefan Wimmer and the team in person, you will soon have the chance again: we will be exhibiting with our own stand at CAFM World 2026 in Munich on 24 and 25 November. You can arrange a meeting via the ticket and appointment booking.
